Biography
Lindsay Herrera Kaplan, MSAOM, LAc, obtained her Masters of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine after completing her Bachelors of Science in Herbal Sciences from Bastyr University in Kenmore, Washington. She is designated as a Diplomat of Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and is a licensed Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist in the state of Colorado. Lindsay earned her Certificate of Massage at Brenneke School of Massage in Seattle, Washington and is a licensed Massage Therapist in the state of Colorado.
During her month-long externship in Shanghai, China she completed Chinese herbal clinical rounds in internal medicine and gynecology at Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) shadowing world renowned TCM medical doctors. Lindsay additionally completed advanced preceptorships at Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia learning Acupuncture Physical Medicine (APM) and pain management techniques, at Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center in the Chronic Fatigue department, at Evergreen Outpatient (Methadone) Drug Treatment Facility providing acupuncture detox treatments, and in private practice at Acupuncture Bliss shadowing women's health and maternity cases, including labor preparation.
Lindsay spent her first year of practice as a team member at The Spine Center in East Lansing, Michigan and established the clinic’s first acupuncture and massage therapy departments. She practiced alongside neurosurgeons, physicians, physiatrists, and physical therapists. During this time she also served as Treasurer for the Michigan Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAAOM).
With over a decade of post-graduate clinical experience Lindsay has supplemented her strong foundation in TCM with additional trainings in highly effective and efficient acupuncture and diagnostic techniques. She studied with world renowned, Dr. Richard Teh Fu Tan learning distal acupuncture methods and is skilled in Master Tung’s lineage of acupuncture including his profound, yet gentle bleeding techniques. She commonly uses these techniques for effectively treating all types of pain. Lindsay practices Advanced Medical Pulse Diagnosis (MPD) with incredible accuracy and utilizes this tool with all internal medical issues. She is skilled at detecting shock and trauma in the pulse and enjoys treating it accordingly. As her interest in the field of Cardiology grows she continues studies in this area and sees direct connections between fatigue, anxiety, and sleep disorders and cardiovascular imbalances, all treatable with the use of internal botanical medicine formulations.
Lindsay owned and operated Achieving Health Clinic in Fort Collins, CO successfully for nine years and has since closed her doors. She is now a proud team member and Acupuncture Associate at the TCM Clinic in Fort Collins.
